Free speech is sacred

Word.
I’ve never heard of Pat Condell, but apparently he’s a comedian in the UK. If you have time you should check out some of his other videos.
FYI, here’s what he’s ranting about: U.N. body adopts resolution on religious defamation
I’m not anti-Christian
by mike on Mar.09, 2009, under most important, politics, religion
The few of you that don’t know me that may have read my previous post might think I’m anti-Christian, anti-religion, etc. Let me assure you, that that’s not the case. While I may sit on the agnostic-atheist fence, I have no problem with the teachings of Jesus. I can agree with just about everything attributed to Jesus…be nice to others, turn the other cheek, that kind of stuff. As the late, great Louis Armstrong said in the beginning of “What a Wonderful World”
Some of you young folks been saying to me,
“Hey Pops, what you mean ‘What a wonderful world’?”
How about all them wars all over the place?
You call them wonderful?
And how about hunger and pollution?
They ain’t so wonderful either.
Well how about listening to old Pops for a minute.
Seems to me, it ain’t the world that’s so bad, but what we’re doin’ to it.
And all I’m saying is see what a wonderful world it would be if only we’d give it a chance.
Love baby, love, that’s the secret. Yeahhhhhh.
If lots more of us loved each other we’d solve lots more problems.
And man, this world would be a gasser.
That’s why ol’ Pops keeps saying…
Anyway, here’s a great interview with my newest favorite “public Christian,” Frank Schaeffer.

And for an excellent documentary on evolution vs. intelligent design, check out the Nova episode “Judgement Day: Intelligent Design on Trial”. I highly recommend it for everyone on both sides.
See, Obama can piss me off too

Obama, auto industry favor single fuel standard
I can see why the automakers want one fuel economy standard, because it makes life easier on them. But the real reason they don’t want California (and those states that will follow suit) to be able to set their own standard is because it’s more stringent than the national standard. But hey, the automakers could always just engineer their fleet to meet the more stringent requirements. It’s about time anyway, as even China has more stringent standards than the U.S.A. does.
If the RNC weren’t in the pocket of Big Business and stuck to their guns, they’d be all for California having their own standards. I mean, it is a “States’ Rights” issue, isn’t it?
Bush’s Secret Dictatorship

Who here is surprised? If so…really? You never put that together yourself? Really?!?!
I mean, the late, great Hunter S. Thompson knew early on what a piece of shit jackass George W. Bush was. While he despised Tricky Dick to the core, he would’ve taken Nixon over GWB any day of the week.
