See, Obama can piss me off too

Obama, auto industry favor single fuel standard
I can see why the automakers want one fuel economy standard, because it makes life easier on them. But the real reason they don’t want California (and those states that will follow suit) to be able to set their own standard is because it’s more stringent than the national standard. But hey, the automakers could always just engineer their fleet to meet the more stringent requirements. It’s about time anyway, as even China has more stringent standards than the U.S.A. does.
If the RNC weren’t in the pocket of Big Business and stuck to their guns, they’d be all for California having their own standards. I mean, it is a “States’ Rights” issue, isn’t it?
Yet another reason why I won’t be buying an American car anytime soon

GM, Chrysler suing taxpayers with taxpayer money
I have zero faith in Chrysler products and most GM vehicles (unless you shell out big bucks) feel cheap inside. Foreign automakers certainly can make crappy vehicles (VW, Kia, & Hyundai, to an extent), but many of them are of superior quality, of superior design, and are a better bang for your buck. I’m pissed that the government gave GM and Chrysler any money, as they should have been left swinging in the wind. They made their bed now let them sleep in it. Isn’t that how capitalism is supposed to work? If you can’t make a better product and/or can’t compete in the marketplace, you fail. You want to succeed? You make a better product and beat your competitors. At least Ford is trying to save their own ass. But taking $14,000,000,000 and still suing the people who are paying for your loser asses is beyond reproach. It’s reprehensible.
Marijuana Legalization

Washington grew it. Jefferson grew it. It was at one time the world’s number one cash crop. It was legal up until the early 1930s. When the USA entered WWII the federal government decriminalized it and had an ad campaign going — “Grow Hemp for the War!” I’ll cut short my tirade (for now). In the meantime, check out this clever ad.
Yay! Congress did something right!

The $700 billion bailout bill failed to pass the House today, and I for one am happier for it. McCain can go suck rotten eggs for blaming Obama. If Obama was the reason it failed to pass, then he must be more powerful than our current President who couldn’t push it through. For an excellent article explaining why this is a Good Thing, read this.
