Shepherd Book said, “I don’t care what you believe in, just believe in it.”
What do you believe in?
I’m not sure what I believe in anymore. And that makes me a bit sad.

Jesus is just alright with him
by mike on Apr.03, 2009, under religion
Salon.com has an excellent article titled “Jesus is just alright with him.” It’s about Bart Ehrman, a biblical scholar (actually, the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill) who has authored a number of books on Jesus and Christianity. The most recent, and the main topic of this interview, is titled Jesus, Interrupted: Revealing the Hidden Contradictions in the Bible (And Why We Don’t Know About Them). I haven’t read any of his books yet, but I plan to after reading this article. It’s three pages, but it’s worth the read.

Word.
I’ve never heard of Pat Condell, but apparently he’s a comedian in the UK. If you have time you should check out some of his other videos.
FYI, here’s what he’s ranting about: U.N. body adopts resolution on religious defamation
I’m not anti-Christian

The few of you that don’t know me that may have read my previous post might think I’m anti-Christian, anti-religion, etc. Let me assure you, that that’s not the case. While I may sit on the agnostic-atheist fence, I have no problem with the teachings of Jesus. I can agree with just about everything attributed to Jesus…be nice to others, turn the other cheek, that kind of stuff. As the late, great Louis Armstrong said in the beginning of “What a Wonderful World”
Some of you young folks been saying to me,
“Hey Pops, what you mean ‘What a wonderful world’?”
How about all them wars all over the place?
You call them wonderful?
And how about hunger and pollution?
They ain’t so wonderful either.
Well how about listening to old Pops for a minute.
Seems to me, it ain’t the world that’s so bad, but what we’re doin’ to it.
And all I’m saying is see what a wonderful world it would be if only we’d give it a chance.
Love baby, love, that’s the secret. Yeahhhhhh.
If lots more of us loved each other we’d solve lots more problems.
And man, this world would be a gasser.
That’s why ol’ Pops keeps saying…
Anyway, here’s a great interview with my newest favorite “public Christian,” Frank Schaeffer.
